How can I keep my cat from eating my plant?
I have a new plant that my cat loves. I love plants and I would like more of them, but he sabotages them all. I received flowers before finding nothing but twigs and petals left in any home. Now he tries to eat my last addition. It is pure evil. Anyway, has anyone had any success with using some kind of spray plant or something?
1. Take the chili powder (the spice you cook with) and lightly dust or water your plants. This work very well. Cats will not touch them again if the chili powder stays on. Make sure when watering, you do not rinse off all the chilli. 2. Place double-sided tape on the sticky area surrounding the plant. Your cat will hate how it feels on his / her paws and soon stop going there. 3. Place aluminum foil on the area surrounding the plant. Most cats hate the feeling on their feet. 4. A good solution is to put the issues around Plant outside of your cat's favorite plants. This may create a barrier so that your cat can not even get to of off-limits. 5. Place upside down mouse traps on the area around the plant and then put a piece of wax paper over that (some pet even have an official version of the old house tour). When your cat walks on the wax paper it will get an unsuspecting fear. After a while your cat will learn that this area is more trouble than it's worth. This method can be difficult to ensure that your cat does not accidentally do / be in a trap. 6. - Place plastic lining the bottom up (with little pokey parts facing up) around the plant. Your cat will not like how feels about his / her legs at all. 7. - Buy a cat repellent spray at your local pet store. Make sure the spray is safe for your specific plant. 8. Spray top and bottom sheets with a little diluted perfume. The cat will follow the scent and try to nibble on the plant. This will normally be followed by a race crazy in the water bowl to Get Rid of the taste. 9. Another way to treat your plants is to use Bitter Apple ® Spray is Grannick on them. Product is not harmful, but the taste is bad (for dogs and cats). A few licks Bitter Apple is going to cure your cat from ever touching the plant again.
