What's the best way to harvest/prepare therapeutic herbs?
The plant in particular is Sceletium tortuosum (known as "kanna" in South Africa). It acts as an SRI, similar to anti-anxiety pills and antidepressants.
I plan on cutting the leaves when the plant is blooming, and hanging them to dry.
Would it be more potent if I just ate the leaves fresh?
that depends on if the leaves are what you need for the kanna.
With simple old Chamomile tea, you use the flowers, not the plant itself.
You need more information if you are not sure what part to use.
