My lab scraped his tail a week ago and it's starting to look bad.?
The scrape is about an inch wide and two long. The hair and most skin is gone. The center of the wound is blood red and has started to get a yellow/green, bruised look around the outside. I have cleaned it and apllied an antibiotic frequently, but I am concerned about the color of it and that he won't leave it alone and licks it constantly.
Yes, I know, a Vet could tell me, but the nearest vet is about two hours away. I live in the mountains.
Anyone who is knowledgable and can offer any advice I would greatly appreciate any input.
Can anyone recommend treatment? An ointment, spray, medication..............
You NEED to take him to a vet before it gets worse!The vet will give him some antibiotics to help him heal.
