Should I take my dog to the ER?
I adopted a Giant Alaskan Malamute puupy about 2 weeks ago. Since we got him he has always had liquid poop. but now, it is getting even worse. It is almost completely liquid. There is no blood in it or anything, so I don't think it is parvo. and he seems healty. Running, jumping around, doing his little woo-woos (barking). Today was the worst one yet though. He didnt even make it to his puppy pad!
When I adopted him he came with a Puppy insurance in case I had to take him to the vet for certain things. Will a $500 coverage cover an emergancy visit? Or should I wait a few hours and take him first thing tomorow morning?

MM, if it were parvo it would have a smell you would never forget. I'm thinking it's a parasite or stomach irritation. As long as he's playing well and taking in plenty of fluids, I would just call in the morning and make an appointment with your vet. Just keep an eye on him for signs of dehydration.
"Signs of dehydration can include a lack of elasticity to the skin, dry and sunken eyes, and a dry mouth and nose. Dehydrated dogs will also experience a delay in capillary refill time. To test for this, pull the dogs lip away from its gum (gently) and press a finger against the gum until the area whitens. Release your finger and the color should return to the area almost immediately. A delay could be an indication of dehydration. "
